Background

Background

Author of NOBOGEY:     Gugler Reinhold

"In 1995, at the age of 34, my golf coach Willi Hofmann suggested to make records of my game. This was shortly after I contacted him with the goal to become a professional golfer. At that time I was playing around handicap -12 and most people laughed at me like I was gone completely nuts.
I started my game analysis by using a standard charting tool which was not very user-friendly. But then I began to write my own program and extended it more and more. I tested it together with friends and optimized it. You can say that the development of the program and my game went hand in hand.
Then in 1999 I played a handicap of +0.4 and in 2000 I turned professional.

You may wonder why I'm telling you all this.
I'm totally convinced that without consistent game analysis and using its results for my practice I could never have been able to achieve all this in that time period - in addition to my regular profession and programming.
Due to limited leisure time I'd to find a solution that would enable an effective use of that time. And this was granted by the accurate round analysis in finding my weak points.
Besides I noticed a very pleasant side effect which improved my mental game and my ability to concentrate dramatically: because I filled out the special score card during a round, I was so focused on my game that I simply didn't have that much time for negative thoughts anymore.

Due to the fact that not many good golfers are computer freaks, my priority was to develop a simple and user-friendly, but accurate and comprehensive program.

Résumé:  I dedicate this program to all people who love the game of golf and want to achieve high goals in this sport. And how you can see on my example - it's never too late !"
